WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?

WHAT CONDITIONS DOES THE SPOT OFFER?
Vassiliki’s extraordinary local wind phenomenon is renowned throughout the windsurfing world; it’s a thermal wind, accelerated by the mountain overlooking the bay. This means you get the full range of conditions all in one day, every day!
Mornings: Beginners and improvers have a gentle start with the light on-shore breeze and calm, flat sea which makes learning easy.
Afternoons: The more advanced can go as wild as they wish in the howling cross-shore. The sea remains fairly flat, but there is some great chop for bumps & jump.
FOR WHICH TYPE OF RIDER IS THE SPOT MOST SUITABLE?
Vassiliki is ideal for all levels, from beginner to advanced and it is particularly renowned as a freestyle spot. Kids Club and Pro-Kids provide specialised instruction and gear to get the next generation on board. Club Vass also has a dedicated Foil Centre with brand new premium gear and expert coaching as the spot is great for wing & wind foiling.
DO YOU OFFER CLINICS AND LESSONS?
Group lessons run weekly from Monday-Friday and private coaching is also available. We regularly run special clinics, including ‘Divas’ for the ladies, ‘Speed Week’ for fast-track progress and wing clinics for various levels
DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN WETSUIT AND HARNESS?
We rent wetsuits and both rent and sell harnesses
WHICH WETSUIT DO I NEED?
Wetsuits are not really needed in summer, but you may prefer to use a shorty, particularly in the early and late season.
DO YOU PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION?
We offer accommodation at the Club Vass beachfront on-site hotel with 28 sea-view rooms, pool, en-suite shower rooms, fridges, aircon and Wi-Fi.
Alternatively you can stay in self-catering Andromeda Studios located in the olive groves, just 5 mins from Club, with pool and pool-bar, ensuite shower rooms, aircon and WiFi.
A private luxury waterfront villa is also available 10mins from the Club, sleeps 8-10 in super style, with private sea access to a beautiful secluded bay, pool, aircon, WiFi: www.capevillas.net

WHAT IS THERE TO DO BESIDES WINDSURFING?
Other activities include wing and wind foiling at Club Vass dedicated Foil Centre, world-class mountain biking, stand up paddle, yoga and pilates. There’s plenty to see and do on Lefkas Island and neighbouring islands (including Ithaca, Kefalonia and Meganissi) and plenty of ways to explore; car, moped, quad bike, MTB, on foot, kayak, SUP, RIB or ferry.
ARE THERE ANY BARS OR RESTAURANTS AROUND?
Club Vass on-site restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and for special evening events including the legendary weekly Club Vass BBQ. Our beach bar is open throughout the day and it’s the hub of après surf for sundowners and beyond. Vassiliki village offers a choice of fabulous restaurants, harbourside tavernas and bars.

RENE EGLI – Location feature
René Egli Fuerteventura has offered world-class windsurfing holidays since 1984 and is considered the biggest centre worldwide. Situated right at the famous World Cup spot with a tidal lagoon, this spot offers outstanding wind statistics. The equipment is renewed annually, while rentals and courses are offered for all levels. For maximum convenience, there are two Meliá Hotels within walking distance that provide excellent accommodation options.
PRASONISI CENTER – LOCATION FEATURE
Prasonisi Beach is the southernmost beach of Rhodes – the main island of the Dodecanese Island in Greece. Prasonisi Beach is famous for its excellent geographical location, strong and stable Meltemi winds, and unique coastline connecting two seas at one large sandy beach; the Aegean and the Mediterranean Sea. These characteristics make it one of the world’s most attractive and interesting places for windsurfing or wind foil, both at beginner and advanced levels.

Long-time windsurfers will remember the former name of the shop, Windsurfing Hatteras. Ocean Air Sports has grown over the years and is now one of North America’s premier destination windsurf shops. Thousands of wind sport enthusiasts stop each season to check out the latest and greatest gear, learn to windsurf, and take some of the newest equipment out for a test drive from our rental/demo fleet.
WAVE SCHOOL, LA TRANCHE SUR MER – LOCATION FEATURE
Based in La Tranche Sur Mer, France, Wave School has been a windsurf centre since 1984. Settled between a lake and the open sea, Wave School offers courses and rental at a perfect spot for beginners, as well as, intermediate to expert level windsurfers.
BROUWERSDAM – Location feature
“Zeil en Surfcentrum Brouwersdam” has been a windsurf centre since 1993. Over the last years it has undergone a large modernisation and grown in size. Not only a windsurf centre – Brouwersdam offers the full experience with cottages, water activities, sailing, and a shop and restaurant.
