FOILGLIDE 3 _FREERIDE FOIL

The FoilGlide 3 is NOT just a freeride sail with ‘Foil’ written on it… Specifically designed for foiling with focus on the following points;

LIGHTWEIGHT.

This is one of the most important characteristics. And we do lightweight sails better than anyone.

HIGH CENTRE OF LIFT.

Increases leverage for efficiency. Improves pumpability.

STABLE.

Reduced draft movement means there’s less influence on trim. Better to keep everything constant. Cams keep the sail profile stable and minimize any movement.

SHORT BOOMS.

Better control. The shorter boom length allows you to adjust your stance easily.
After the success of our foil racing sail, the HyperGlide, we have created a user-friendly freeride version – the FoilGlide. Sharing a lot of technology and ideology these sails are the ultimate for foiling.

The high-aspect design is more stable, more efficient, and more controllable. The shorter boom lengths are easy to manage, and position the Centre of Effort directly above the foil. Combined with a tighter leech, the leverage is increased which gets you up and foiling with a smaller sail in lighter winds.

With only 5 battens and lightweight construction, the physical weight of these sails is significantly less than other sails. For foiling this makes maintaining trim much easier, and just a lot more fun to use.

The FoilGlide is THE choice for freeride foiling.

LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION

With 5 battens and lightweight construction, the physical weight of these sails is significantly less than other sails. For foiling this makes maintaining trim much easier, and just a lot more fun to use. Fewer battens, as well as less skin tension, makes the FoilGlide soft and easy to pump up onto the foil.

MORE WINDSURFING.

For most windsurfers, foiling has the potential to DOUBLE their time on the water.

Our foil equipment has been designed to get people up and flying easily, safely and with as much fun as possible.  By directly understanding all the variables ourselves, we have made the design choices to deliver a foiling experience that will expand your windsurfing world.

How many cams are on the FoilGlide 3?

The FoilGlide 3 has 3 cambers in all sizes.
All cambers are RDM.

What is the difference between the FoilGlide and the HyperGlide sails?

The FoilGlide 3 sail is a user-friendly freeride version of the successful HyperGlide series. These sails share the same technology and ideology; all optimised for ultimate performance on the foil.

The FoilGlide 3 is designed for freeride, not racing. The FoilGlide 3 is much lighter and easier

What is the difference between the FoilGlide 3 and the Turbo?

The FoilGlide 3 is designed specifically for foiling. The FoilGlide 3 is lighter

Can I use the FoilGlide 3 on the fin?

While the FoilGlide 3, of course, can be used as a regular fin windsurfing sail, it is optimised as a foil freeride sail. We recommend using the FoilGlide 3 on the foil.

CAN I USE A SDM MAST INSTEAD OF AN RDM MAST? WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I DO SO?

The FoilGlide3 is designed on RDM masts. You can, however, also use it on SDM masts by switching the cams from RDM to SDM, these will need to be ordered at your local dealer/distributor.

Use the dealer locator to find your nearest dealer/distributor.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I USE MORE DOWNHAUL THAN RECOMMENDED?

Applying too much downhaul could open up the top of the sail, causing it to move more while in flight. This can make the sail less stable.

Follow the recommended settings for the best setup.

CAN I USE A NON-SEVERNE MAST IN MY SAILS?

All of our development, testing, rigging, and tuning are done using SEVERNE masts.

We strongly recommend our customers use SEVERNE masts. Our masts are designed with a specific SEVERNE bend curve that remains one of the pillars of our rigs.

We don’t test the performance or bend curves of other masts, and can thus not guarantee which performance or durability you can get out of your sail using a different brand mast.

We describe the curve of our mast as a SEVERNE curve. The constant, hardtop, or flex top curves that generic mast brands describe base themselves on measurements on 3 points.

We measure our masts at 7 points minimum.
