HEX 4

HEX 4

A single tool does everything.

1. Batten tension adjustment.
2. Fin screws (both SlotBox and PowerBox).
3. Footstrap installation.
4. Beer opener.

The HEX4 tool is supplied with every sail and every board. Compared to a Philips screwdriver, the 4mm hex key is a much easier system to tighten and adjust footstraps and fins. It only requires a rotational movement rather than downforce + rotation. The wide boomerang gives enough leverage to fully tighten footstraps with a fraction of the effort of a Philips screwdriver.

F-SERIES FINS

Rather than just matching an existing fin to a board, each F-Series fin is customised to the exact Fox board it’s designed for. Rake angles increase as board size decreases to maintain control as conditions get more extreme. Surface area, base chord length and profiles are selected for each individual fin in order to maximise the performance of the complete unit.

G10 is the material of choice due to it’s consistency and durability. The fin’s outline is designed to make the most out of this G10 material – twist is minimized with the narrow tip, and flex is controlled with the chord lengths.

FAQ

Why do the boards include a powerbox?

Plug and play. The simplicity of having just one screw that works with the same Hex 4 key as the footstraps allows for very quick and easy setups.

What is the function of the integrated ramps?

The integrated ramps have been designed to authomatically lift the toes and place the rider in a much more comfortable position. The pads will naturally suit the correct stance on the board so you can lock into position and blast for hours. Cramps in your calves and shins will not shorten your time and fun on the water anymore.

Will the 135 liter board feel too small if I was used to the 140?

Althought the volume of the board has slightly decreased, the new outline shape is made to maintain the perfomance on the high end, but improve on the lower end. You will find the board faster and more stable while planning, and throught gybes. Also with 5 litters less or in lighter wind conditions.

Does the FOX V3 come in a HD construction?

No.

The nose design is different. How does that affect the perfomance?

While the new nose design was meant to be more aesthetically pleasing, it also offers gains in gybing performance.

How many footstraps positions does the FOX V3 allow?

The FOX V3 comes with inboard and outboard footstrap inserts in the front and the back. Furthermore, each insert group offer three options.

How does the footstrap position affect my sailing?

Fewer footstrap positions have been included to make your life easier. The center inserts are recommended. Insert your footstraps in the back position for a more racy feeling, and use the front holes if you find you need to narrow your stance.

Which sail does best suit the FOX V3?

The recommended sails are the SEVERNE NCX if you like to have a light sail feeling without cambers. If you want to push your speed we suggest the SEVERNE TURBO with cambers.

Can the FOX V3 be used as a foil board?

We do not recommend using the FOX V3 as a foil board. The SEVERNE ALIEN is the most adequate for freeride foiling, the SEVERNE PREDATOR for high-level freeride and freestyle. Lastly, the SEVERNE HYDRO serves as the foil race board.

Are there any nose protectors for the FOX V3?

You can order the FOX V3 with a nose protector when pre-ordering. These are pre-fitted in the factory.

Can I use a bigger fin if I try a bigger sail than recommended?

Yes, you can. We’d recommend, however, that you use the included fin for maximum compatibility.

Which volume should I buy?

Best is to use our size chart as a reference. If you are a more inexperienced rider, you may consider one size bigger than recommended to have extra volume coming out of the gybes or getting on the plane. If you have plenty of experience the size chart is accurate. If in doubt don’t hesitate to ask your closest Severne Dealer or shop for detailed advice.

What happens if I use a smaller or bigger size sail than recommended?

If you go for a bigger size sail than recommended it can be you start struggling with spinouts and stability when coming out of jibes. Smaller sails than recommended in general means you are sailing in stronger winds and to big boards than get harder to control. If you are sailing on flatter water this is not a problem if you are sailing on choppy sea’s you will notice going to a smaller board will give you a lot more control & fun

What is the paint code of the FOX V3?

Same as Dyno codes on the website
