Multi-year winning streak for team Severne and the FREEK freestyle sail

With a promising forecast On hand and two European freestyle champions to be awarded, the Freestyle Pro Tour assembled a grand final event in Brouwersdam, Netherlands.

After a year of touring numerous global destinations and delivering remarkable performance consistency, Severne’s very own Lennart Neubauer and Maaike Huvermann secured the European freestyle titles in an incredible display of windsurfing mastery.

Let’s remember the remarkable feats achieved by the remaining Severne riders, along with the local heroes from Brouwersdam, including Bodhi Kempen, Tim Gerdes, and Felix Volkhart. Their performances were nothing short of spectacular.

Ultimately, the team masterfully showcased the Severne FREEK, which earned its status as the most decorated freestyle sail of 2023 – a title it has earned for years in a row.

Event Highlights

Lennart Neubauer’s Showstopper

In the men’s category, Lennart Neubauer delivered a jaw-dropping performance that had everyone on the edge of their seats. His skills, incredible style, and technical moves earned him the European freestyle title, reaffirming his status as one of windsurfing’s rising stars or, better said, shining stars.

Lennart’s professionalism, consistency, and hard work have taken him from injury to victory over the course of one year, adding multiple wins and podiums to his results list.

Maaike Huvermann’s Triumph

Not to be outdone, Maaike Huvermann brought her A-game to the women’s category.

Maaike’s talent and passion for freestyle windsurfing launched her to the top, securing her the European freestyle title once again. Her captivating moves and smart approach make her a formidable force in the world of windsurfing.

Stellar Performances from the SEVERNE Team

While Lennart Neubauer and Maaike Huvermann’s victories took center stage at the Freestyle Pro Tour event in Brouwersdam, they were not the only members of the SEVERNE team busting moves.

Local heroes Bodhi Kempen, Tim Gerdes, and Felix Volkhart delivered remarkable performances that had the crowd standing in the rain to continue watching them.

Bodhi Kempen’s Skillful Rides

Bodhi Kempen, the local talent hailing from The Netherlands, demonstrated incredible skill and determination throughout the event. His consistent, and stylish execution of moves showcased why he deserved a fifth place on the 2023 European freestyle Pro Tour rankings.

Tim GERDES´ ARTISTRY

Tim Gerdes and his dedication to freestyle windsurfing was evident in every move that went down to his score sheet. Tim ends the year taking spot number thirteen on the European ranking, but don´t be surprised if you see his name scaling up as time goes by.

Felix Volkhart’s Promising Future

Felix Volkhart, yet another rising star in the world of windsurfing, exhibited tremendous potential at the Freestyle Pro Tour event. His youthful energy and different approach to training surely are emblematic of a Severne rider. Opting to train in the US rather than the traditional spot clearly shows in the form of a different flair and style throughout his heats.

Behind the Scenes

Achieving success isn’t a walk in the park. The entire Severne team has put in relentless effort, diligently preparing for every event. They’ve honed their skills and fine-tuned their equipment to tackle the special challenges that each competition presents.

Their unwavering dedication, combined with the performance of Severne gear, crafted with insights from the world’s best riders, all played an important role in this story. This synergy has propelled the Severne FREEK to the pinnacle of freestyle windsurfing once again.
