HYPERGLIDE 4Â _FOIL SLALOM
FLY FIRST CLASS.
Developed with Gonzalo Costa Hoeval (ARG-3) and Matteo Iachino (I-140) for the new PWA racing format where foils will race against fins on the slalom course. The HyperGlide4 is focused on full power foil slalom, where top- end velocity and precision control makes the difference between victory or carnage.
Faster, flatter profiles become possible with less need for extreme upwind or downwind angles. Less backhand pressure means you never sheet out. Opening the mid-leech has reduced drag, and gives you boosted acceleration.
Maximum control is achieved through stability – the less movement in the rig, the easier it is to maintain trim.
High aspect ratios keep the boom length short, minimizing the distance profile can move backward. High skin tension and a rigid framework of 7 tube battens and 4 XL cams lock everything in place, creating a highly efficient race machine.
Trademark weight reduction throughout the HyperGlide4 means you’re racing on the lightest rig – every time you power into a gybe you know you’re doing it with less effort than your opponents. With a reduced foot, that ability to nail every gybe increases confidence. Fly first class.

TECHNOLOGY
SEAMLESS HEAD PANEL
This high abrasion area is made from only 1 panel and does not carry any exposed seams, preventing any potential weak point in this area. As a result, seam creep and seam-related failure have been eliminated.
LEADING EDGE
Tuned entry with a finer leading edge rotation for reduced drag.
OPTIMIZED AERODYNAMICS
By aligning the battens with the direction of airflow drag has been reduced. Clean panels with minimal seams further improve the aerodynamics.
DIRECT DRIVE TENSIONERS
The DDT 4 and DDT 5 tensioners directly connect the tube batten to the leech of the sail. This new design eliminates the heavy section of tube that is needed for the standard batten tensioner and being smaller, has superior aerodynamics.
OPTIONAL CLEW POSITIONS
POSITION 1:
This is the recommended setting and carries the adjustable outhaul fitting. It creates the perfect balance between a comfortable clew height and leech tension. This is the setting that Matteo Iachino will use for 99% of PWA slalom races.
POSITION 2:
This setting is lower and further in. It softens the feel of the sail and may be more comfortable for smaller, lighter riders looking for more control in higher winds.
PERFORMANCE MONOFILM CONSTRUCTION
Monofilm Construction to maximise performance and minimize weight. Construction mimics the exact sail prototypes that were tested by our racers.
BOOM HEIGHT REFERENCE
Boom height gauge for ease of reference.
HIGH VISIBILITY SLEEVE
Keep your opponents and surroundings in check while racing.
APEX SKIN TENSION
Capitalizing on the performance and proven durability of the Apex Pro mast, more luff curve has increased skin tension to lock the profile low and forward where it can be most easily controlled.
3&4 ROLLER TACK PULLEY
Roller tack pulleys are matched to the sails downhaul requirements and aligned for friction free downhauling and threading ease. Rig your sails with the Severne Hardware Division extensions for function and simplicity.
XL PERFORMANCE
Used on the HyperGLide 4, the XL Cam maximizes leading edge stability by allowing increased cam pressure to be distributed over a wider surface area.
Rotation is improved by the increased the leverage of the longer cam.
Mast wear is reduced due to less friction from the 8 rollers.
SPIDERFIBRE
SpiderFibre on the leech of the sail massively increases the perimeter strength and inhibits vertical stretch between the sail panels.
SEAMLESS FOOT CONSTRUCTION
A single panel in the foot area with hidden load patches and zero exposed stitching eliminates seam abrasion and seam creep in this high load area. Maximum durability and minimum weight.

Can I use the HyperGlide 4 with the fin?
The HyperGlide 4 is specifically designed for foil slalom and thus not recommended to use as a “fin” windsurfing sail.
Which masts does the HyperGlide 4 rig on?
All HyperGlide 4 sizes are designed for use with SDM mast.
How much downhaul should I use on the Mach 4?
Follow the recommended settings and work your way from there.
What is the difference between Mach 4 and HyperGlide 4?
The Mach 4 is a slalom sail that is compatible with the foil. The HyperGlide 4 is a foil specific slalom sail.
