WELCOME TO 023

REFINED PERFORMANCE.

This new season sees big leaps forward in construction. All SEVERNE wave sails now boast the Load-Path experience gained during the HyperSpider project and later exploration of CarbonFusion technology. The outcome is an intelligent sailcloth usage that not only controls the stretch but harnesses elasticity to make sails that react and respond like a coiled spring. Sails that feel alive.

By integrating the reinforcing layers into the panel layout, loads transfer out of the corners and throughout the body of the sail. The tapered overlapping seams double and then triple material thickness as they reach the tack, clew, and head. We call this GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY.

Another year of CarbonFusion manufacturing experience to improve production efficiency has increased capacity. We are now able to use this construction for the Blade Pro

Adding GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY into the mix means both the Blade and Blade Pro can use the same production patterns. Same for the S-1 and S-1 Pro.

Differentiation between the two constructions is now easier. The carbon construction is lighter, more stable, and has a wider wind range. The standard construction is about 150g heavier depending on size and is lower cost. Both constructions are now offered in ALL sizes.

GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY

With the new GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY improvements are obvious. Lighter weight and better stability.

Using the new GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY. Corners have overlapped panels which reduces the amount of patching. At the same time these overlapped areas extend into the body of the sail so it transitions the load much better, will be less stretch over time. It’s a more stable way of building sails.

The GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY logically reduces weight, increases strength and controls stretch. Overall weight is reduced but the more significant improvement is the feel – quicker reacting and lighter feel.

Rather than a single curved luff panel, we use separate panels – split luff – that radiate out of the head and tack corners. This perfectly aligns the sail material with the direction of load.

Previously the curved panel would have bias stretch in all the wrong places. Direct transmission of power. Increased longevity.

A NEW BOARD COMES TO LIFE

A NEW BOARD COMES TO LIFE

STONE _ASYMMETRIC WAVE

Designed in collaboration with Jaeger Stone and Stone Surf, the “Stone” is the outcome of a design objective aimed at building Jaeger’s favourite board from a user friendly approach.

The Stone features a finer and longer rail on the bottom turn side to cut through chop and allow deeper grip at top speed. The top turn rail is shortened by removing the swallow, creating an ‘S’ tail which assists a ‘snappier’ top turn allowing for the tail to sink easier.

WHAT THE RIDERS ARE SAYING

JAEGER STONE

This board performs the way I expect it to perform, but it gives me more options and variety. It has given me the ability to push even harder off the bottom, meaning my approach to the top turn can become closer to vertical. It feels like everything I’ve loved in my previous boards, but the angles coming in and out of the turns are more aggressive. It is a progression for my style of riding.

Dieter Van der Eyken

Personally, my favorite sail is the S-1 because of its drive in the bottom turn and manouverability in the top turn for 360s.

Philip Köster

Scott McKerher

Blade is still the ultimate stable power source to drive your rails through southern ocean swells with even more of a deft touch of finesse.

DAIDA Moreno

Personally, my favorite sail is the Blade because it’s the most manoeuverable sail I have ever used, being able to complete much easier with my backside and frontside moves without so much backhand power.

Full easy control with all the waves moves with a much lighter and softer feeling with lots of speed. I thought it would
be difficult to step up and get better sails than we used to have, but I was clearly wrong. Severne has managed to prove once again to be the best sail brand in the world.
