CEDRIC BORDES
THE LOWDOWN
I was born in Marseille, France and started windsurfing at the age of 13 years old. Before this age, I was playing soccer. I never thought that I could be a professional windsurfer one day but when I was at university I got a deal with Tabou (2005) to compete at slalom events + doing their R&D for their whole line and a bit later I joined Gaastra (2007). It was a blast and since then I am on tour. Thanks to my 2 original sponsors I have been able to train and go on the best location of the world. I learned a lot how a company is working and what is really important or not at the end of the day. I have now a familie with 2 kids and want to have a bit less responsability than before to focus more on my own sailing and racing. With Severne giving me the opportunity to strive towards a common goal, I am super happy to sail next to Matteo and the whole team who are pushing together the gear and the sport.
See you on the water, Cedric

PWA Gran Canaria World Cup 2023 – eight days of full on action
This year’s Gran Canaria world cup was a week-long windsurfing action reel covering wave, and slalom racing.
Not a single day was quiet during this year’s Gran Canaria World Cup. The first weekend delivered the near-perfect wave conditions we all see in magazine shots. Then followed three days of full-power slalom racing, only to have wave action return the following weekend to bookend an incredible event.
Nearly all podiums had Severne riders present. Amongst others, Daida Moreno won her 22nd Pozo title, and Blanca Alabau won her first-ever women’s slalom victory.
Severne team successful at PWA Croatia – Sara Wennekes takes the win, Matteo Iachino is third
The island of Bol in Croatia was the host of the first PWA slalom world cup of the year. The conditions switched on every day and provided for eight slalom eliminations in both women and men’s divisions.
For the Severne team, all riding on the new Mach 5 and HyperGlide 5 racing sails, it was successful, to say the least.
