For many years, Playa de Sotavento, Fuerteventura has been a preferred spot for equipment testing thanks to the constant good winds and unique conditions. As testing trips were getting more frequent, the testing trips concept was developed into an official “test week” to also give clients and staff of Rene Egli Fuerteventura the opportunity to participate in equipment test and development. This year will see the fourth edition of this event.

This September 14-18 clients of Rene Egli Fuerteventura are invited to join the 2022 Severne test week. Participants of the test week will be able to get a glimpse of the latest Severne gear, as well as, unreleased development products in the making. There will also be daily briefings and presentations looking into topics like rigging and technique; but visitors will also be able to get a direct insight into, and participate in, equipment development.

During the week, we will also host a fun race open for everybody to join, with prizes for the winners.

To cap off a fun week, there will be a “meet and greet” event at the Ginger Bar at the INNSIDE by Mélia, where there will be a chance to meet the whole Severne team for a chat about all things windsurfing.

OBX-WIND 2025: the community gather on the Outer Banks

OBX-WIND 2025 delivered everything a windsurfing event should be. Consistent Outer Banks wind powered Long Distance racing and Mega Slalom competition on the Pamlico Sound, while Friday’s freestyle expression session brought pros and up-and-coming sailors together. The Beer Race, giant raffle, and Halloween costume party proved that growing the sport requires more than just competition; it’s about building community. SEVERNE has backed this event for years, and watching it expand what’s possible for grassroots windsurfing makes the commitment worthwhile.
