SPEED IS KING
Severne is thrilled to partner up with the 2022 edition of the Luderitz Speed Challenge.
Over the years, the “LSC” has been the pinnacle of speed sailing events and has offered the platform for riders all across the world to break national, continental, and global records year after year since the canal was formed in 2012.
Based in Luderitz, Namibia the canal is regarded as the best spot in the world for the connoisseur speed sailor; created solely for the purpose of going as fast as possible down the 500-meter range and has been refined year by year to offer top-of-the-line speed conditions consistently. Warm desert winds accelerate through the surrounding hills and accelerate when reaching the relatively colder Atlantic ocean resulting in incredibly high wind speeds. It is not uncommon to see wind speeds of up to 50 knots or more at this spot.
Severne is partnering with the Luderitz Speed Challenge to truly bring focus on speed sailing throughout the month of November 2022 and beyond. This year’s challenge will happen between October 31st and November 27. Throughout this holding period, speed seekers from all around the world will be based in the town of Luderitz waiting for the biggest possible forecast to chase those speed sailing records they came to beat.
Get closer to the Luderitz Speed Challenge by tuning into the Severne social media channels throughout November.
