Cedric Bordes is French windfoil champion, second in fin slalom

First title for full SEVERNE race combo

After three events on the French “AFF” tour, SEVERNE rider Cedric Bordes has come out on top of the overall rankings in the windfoil discipline and has finished second in the fin slalom discipline.

Notably, Cedric is the first rider to win a major overall title on the full SEVERNE combo in the windfoil discipline riding the Hyper 7 foil race sails and the Hydro 85 foil race board.

Cedric about the season: “I’m quite happy with how my gear has been working with me this season. We weren’t super lucky throughout the events this year but nonetheless, the level was high. We did the first race of the year in “Le Jai” in Marignane in crazy high winds. Three races were completed and I used only my Mach 7 5.5. We also had one foil race where I used my Hyper 7 6.0 and my Hydro 85 foil race board.

The following event in Leucate was nearly windless. We completed just one foil race in super light winds. I used my Hyper 7 9.0 and my Hydro 85. The last event in Wimereux had no wind so only the two events earlier in the season would count towards the overall. That put me in first place in the windfoil discipline and second overall in the fin slalom discipline. Both my Mach 7 slalom and Hyper 7 foil race sails delivered the goods in range, handling, and speed; and my Hydro 85 foil racing board was my one-board quiver for pretty much the whole season. I’m looking forward to the next one.

The Beer Race, giant raffle, and Halloween costume party proved that growing the sport requires more than just competition; it’s about building community.
