Norwegian team rider battle the elements
Norwegian team rider Vegard Johan Eimind (NOR 0) and his friends were out for a different experience. In near sub zero degrees they took their slalom gear for a ride. Judging from the photos they seemed to enjoy their rather unusual water time. Thumbs up for passion! "It was 0 degrees in the air, and 8 to 10knots of wind. I was on my CODE Red 11.0 and Star-board F 161." We were 3 sailors out pushing the limits. Thanks to good gloves, hood, a thick wetsuit and 7mm wet-shoes we were able to keep warm. It was quite funny rigging up on snow. It's so soft, you didn t need worry about destroying your sail unlike rigging on concrete, but it was pretty cold nevertheless. After rigging up and changing we were out on the water. The first step in the 4 degrees cold water was the worst, from there-on out it was all beautifull and warm and a fantastic feeling to be on the water again after a tooooooo long winter. After windsurfing we played a little in the snow before derigging and going home.." Vegard
